HA Load Balancer¶

HA Load Balancer from Onteon Tech is a combination of a classic load balancer and ADC (Application Delivery Controller) capabilities. It comes standard with a two-node HA version. HA Load Balancer can be used in any environment - in your own infrastructure, in the cloud or in a hybrid architecture.

HA Load Balancer is provided with installer (also web installer) which shortens installation time and reduces number of manual steps. All software components are within the package, there is no additional prerequisites. HA Load Balancer has GUI and Web Application Firewall included. Integrated Keycloak provides authentication for administrators. Core of Onteon Tech HA Load Balancer uses Nginx, mature and very stable software being one of the most popular load balancer software. Web application firewall included in Onteon Tech HA Load Balancer uses ModSecurity 3.0. Cluster Manager components and algorithms were developed by Onteon Tech.

Architecture¶

HA Load Balancer Architecture

Load balancer nodes are managed by cluster managers. Primary Cluster Manager monitors the state of load balancer nodes and act accordingly to changing status. Secondary Cluster Manager constantly monitors if Primary Cluster Manager works. Each load balancer node can be installed in a different location, all nodes need to have communication between them.
